5 good reasons to chose Val-de-Marne,

Strategic location in France and in Europe

Val-de-Marne is situated in the heart of the leading economic region of Europe. The “Greater Paris” Region offers numerous opportunities to access a European market of 495 million consumers. It also represents the top employment area in France and the second most favoured location by the world’s 500 largest companies.

Excellent road and public transport networks

  • 4 motorways (A 4, A 86, the Francilienne, A 6).
  • 5 RER regional express railway lines (A, B, C, D and E).
  • 3 metro lines (1, 7 and 8).
  • The trans-Val-de-Marne (TVM) bus line connecting the East to the West of the region.
  • The river port of Bonneuil-sur-Marne, the second-largest port in Ile-de-France.
  • Valenton, the first multimodal platform of the region. It proposes a full offering of freight connections throughout France and Europe (350 wagons shipped every day).
  • The Orly international airport, second-largest in France and tenth-largest in Europe, serves more than 300 destinations across the world.

Several projects are going to reinforce the department’s transportation networks in the short term and improve public transport efficiency :

  • Extension of metro line 8 up to the Créteil-Parc des Sports station will be put into service early 2011. It will connect the activity zones of south Créteil and north Valenton. * New tramway line on national highway 7 will link Villejuif to Athis-Mons and service the economic and commercial activity zones of Orly-Rungis (91) and Orly Airport, starting 2013.
  • Construction of a dedicated lane for the bus line linking Thiais to the RER line A station in Sucy-Bonneuil (entry into service in 2010).
  • Launching of the orbital metro line Orbival project. This new line will connect all suburbs around Greater Paris. This metro is due to cross the Val-de-Marne area and connect the RER line B station of Arcueil-Cachan and the RER lines A and E stations of Val de Fontenay.
